The Butler County Fair in Hamilton, Ohio is the quintessential county fair. Country folks gather with city folks at our fairgrounds just as they have for 162 years. The show rings are white clapboard barns. The grandstand hasn’t changed much since the Twenties. At the fair, you can glad-hand with local politicians, have a seat on the newest tractors, or lounge in the shade of a tree older than you are while you eat a Flub’s ice cream cone and watch the goats trot by. I visited the fair July 25, 2018, and here are a few scenes I saw. Enjoy.
